Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/11/2003

Number: 1

I reported seeing one worn I might add monarch ,on April 3rd, and also dogface butterflies which also are known to migrate north. Since then it became cooler and I even seen a snow flurry . Yesterday it was beutifuloutside and butterflies were everywhere. I am a collector and I collected some butterflies that I saw. No Monarchs , or dogface were seen. I
believe the ones I saw being the first were in to big of a hurry , during the warm spells and couldn't survive the drop below freezing at night. Atleast ,in the case of the one lone monarch goes , it was worn anyway. The big flock just south of me being safer and holding back may always send out a few early scouts ,in the hope of propogating their species as early as possible . If the monarchs could talk , it would be much easier to understand , but in their own language I guess they do .
But we just don't listen!
