I was working in my butterfly garden this afternoon when a pale colored female adult Monarch arrived to investigate my meager milkweed. She stayed 20 minutes and appeared to lay about 25 eggs. Upon investigation, I counted about 20. She seemed to need to lay them, as she layed 2 and 3 on one leaf and even lay some on stems. It was very exciting. She flew around the yard awhile and disappeared. I guess this counts as my first egg sighting, too.
