I was weeding in our school butterfly garden when I noticed the milkweeds were starting to emerge. When I went home, I walked to where some wild milkweed (of another species) grows and that was up 4 to 6 inches. I checked out my home garden and found the common milkweed was up about an inch and the butterfly weed was just starting to show. No confirmed monarch sightings yet (though I think I saw one last week.)
