Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/21/2003

Number: 1

About 9:30 AM this morning, there was a lone Monarch in and around the front the Docking State Office building on the west side of the State Capitol grounds.

It was extremely deep (dark) in color and when it first appeared I didn't believe it was Monarch until it landed in the grass for a moment and I got a closer look. No tag was observed on the wings.

This is the first one I've seen in this area and a bit earlier than last Spring.
