Mrs. Ference's class checked on the tulip garden this morning. Three of our tulips in the Journey North Garden have bloomed into beatiful, red petals. The winter here in the northern, hilly region of Sussex County, NJ, was very cold and snowy this year. Last year our tulips had already bloomed by now, so it has been a long wait for our classes. March and April have had warm days in the 60-70 degrees followed by days in the 40 degrees. Sometimes even light snow! However, our tulips made it and have come out. We expect most of the other tulips in the garden will bloom within this week.
