It was raining - I gathered 20 earthworms from my driveway for our annual worm races in our kindergarten room. After the races they were promptly returned to a dry dirt area near our room and by recess they had disappeared down or out into the grass. Kdg. kids were thrilled. We just know they are near the tree roots helping them search for water and making our soil softer. Fun project.
