Observed 14 loons in Otisco lake near the Northeast shore. There were 3 in one group, four in another and the remainder seemed to be drifting together maybe 100' from shore(whereas the three were twenty or so feet from shore). At first I thought they were geese until I clearly observed the ones closest to shore. The sighting was near 1p.m. and calling a resident at 2:30, he failed to find them as they apparently moved off. On rare 0ccasions acouple will stay on Otisco for some of the summer.
