Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 04/21/2003

Number: 1

We are first graders in Mrs.Mroz's class in E. Hartford, CT.
Miss Packard's tulips are planted on the south side of the school. These tulips emerged and bloomed first. Our tulips were planted on the west side of our school. They bloomed later on April 21, 2003. We saw that the south side is sunny most of the day. Our west side is shady until late afternoon. The sun made the soil and bulbs warm. The sun helps the tulips turn green and make food to grow! When we measured our plants we discovered that there was a huge range in size! Some tulips were only three inches tall and some were fourteen tall! Almost all of our tulips have beautiful, red tulip blossoms.
