I have observed that Rufous hummers have a lower pitched, "buzzier" sound to their wing hum. A few days ago, I heard that hum, but it wasn't until yesterday (4-28-03) that I positively saw one at my feeder. We live at 3200 feet elevation, and today it is snowing, again!
