The monarch's wings were brightly colored. It sought out my swamp milkweed and deposited a total of 29 eggs on the two main swamp milkweeds (about 4" with tiny leaves), a few tiny plants, and on a clump of emerging butterfly weed (1"). It ignored the common milkweed.
