Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 05/05/2003

Number: 1

"Oh my! Oh my! Mrs. Nawrot, they're here - they're here!" This was the reaction last Monday from the students when we wnt outside (and oh how they have waited for that moment). The students were surprised on how long it took from when the tulips first emerged to when they finally bloomed. After a long discussion, and looking at various temperatures around our local area they decided it was our unpredictably cold weather we were having and the fact that we live out in the country. The students were a little disappointed because not all of the tulips came up, but after looking over the area and seeing some little holes dug they concluded that neighboring critters from the woods must have dug the other bulbs up. They are beginning to think what we can do next year to prevent this from happening. We'll wait and see!
