Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/22/2003

Number: 1

Yesterday May 22, 2003 I found 6 monarch eggs in a patch along a highway in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Milkweed is barely out of the ground here with average daily temps in the 60's with a very cold slow start to spring here. So I did not see one but one has obviously passed through here in recent days.

(First egg provides evidence that the first adult female monarch has arrived.)
