We were sitting on a deck overlooking our monitoring (for Monarchs) site at about 5:30 p.m. when two adults fluttered by. One seemed fresh-looking, the other's wings were more tattered. They fluttered over the area -- maybe looking for milkweed, but our A. Incarnata and A. Syriaca are only a couple of inches high, and we have few flowers in bloom there -- so they fluttered away.
