Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/28/2003

Number: 1

I saw one, lonely monarch butterfly, the other day. Our weather has been cooler and wetter than normal, and I thought that I might have imagined it, but my neighbor saw it too. I have never seen a monarch butterfly so early. I dug up some milkweed plants, from a field, last year, and planted them in my garden. They are already about 6 inches tall. I have not ventured out into the fields to check on the height of the wild plants.
It is suppose to be cool (50's and still wet) for the next few days.
