Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/11/2003

Number: 1

Rod reports that on Wednesday, June 11th, a friend of
his (who he does not identify)spotted four monarchs on
his property just west of Port Hope in Hope Township.
This gentleman was cutting his grass near the edge of
the lake and spotted 3 monarchs. Shortly after, he
spotted a 4th monarch nectaring on a lilac shrub near
his house. Rod regularly enters this gentleman's
property to look for monarchs and knows that this
gentleman can identify monarch butterflies.

That particular day, it was very hot and humid in the
afternoon, and there were good conditions for monarchs
to cross Lake Ontario.
