Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 06/16/2003

Number: 1

I could not believe it, This strange bird just flew in and started pecking the wild cherries in a tree just outside the kitchen. At first I thought it was a large Robin, with an orange breast instead of a blush red breast. When he turned his head, I realized it was a Baltimore Oriole. I have not seen one for many years. I had the kids come run in to see, but soon after a squirrel scared him away. It happened too fast to get the camera.
