Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/13/2003

Number: 1

An adult monarch butterfly was seen flying east, as I drove north
on Monona Drive, around 5:15 pm, on 6-13-03. The single butter-
fly crossed the highway successfully, although I only saw it for
3 seconds or so. It appeared to be brightly colored, orange and
black, and based on this I would guess that the butterfly was
recently hatched.
