The Monarch we observed was nectaring on a few of our flowers. It was a nice calm afternoon around 1 pm CST. I'm not sure exactly what stage the Monarch was in, but its wings appeared to be almost molting? We almost mistook it for a moth, but at closer look we could tell that it was a Monarch with gray patches on its wings. We've been looking for the butterflies but haven't seen as many this year as in previous years.
