Some of the common milkweed in the garden at home is in bloom after a very
wet, cool spring here. The swamp milkweed is about 4 feet tall but still
weeks away from blooming. Someone at the National Wildlife Visitor Center
in Laurel told me they thought they saw a monarch about a week ago, but they
were not able to get a close look. Sunny and 90 dF today. Looks like we
are finally getting back to our more typical hot and humid summer pattern
here.
