There's a nest in a large bush outside my bedroom window. I hear the young chicks first greet the mother robin as early as 5:00 a.m. as she comes back to the nest for the first time of the day to feed them. This is the second set of chicks she has had this year. The nest is only about a foot from my window and occasionally when I'm looking out I see the female looking back at me.
