The 5th and 6th graders at Crestwood Elementary are again being fascinated by the life cycle of thed Monarch!!!! We have been back to school for over a week now and have created our classroom habitat that contains over 30 caterpillars and now 10 chyrsalis...We even watch one wiggle his way into the green blanket--"WOW it was amazing, like magic," said Dillion, age 12. "Just like our research said." This is the 3rd year of our recording and tagging. They seem to be a bit early this year and the population seems to be real good. We have had hot and dry summer...very conducive for the butterflies to lay eggs...
