Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/27/2003

Number: 1

I teach 5th grade in Rome GA and we have raised and released over 20 monarch butterflies in the past week. Several larva were found on the milkweed in our outdoor classroom. There seem to be more females than males. Out of the 20 or more released only one turned black and died. The chrysalises are everywhere and seem easier to find!!
