Signs of Fall

Date: 09/04/2003

Number: 1

I think the remainder of my resident oriole population left last night. No one was coming to the meal worm feeder which I have on a balcony that I surround with 3 chairs to provide some protection from hawks (I did this initially for Robin Hood)

I have been having orioles coming there like clockwork every morning for months. The first batch left Aug 22 and now this a.m. Sept 4, there were none. Winds shifted again last night out of the north and the temps dropped into the high 40'sF. Also, there were no orioles observed coming to the grape jelly feeder outside my office which is out in the open.
