Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/06/2003

Number: 1

While sitting in my kitchen enjoying breakfast at 9 a.m., I noted a large number of migrating monarchs. I began leisurely counting them, and in a one hour period noted 99 monarchs travelling due west. I am sure I missed a number of them as I was also busy with clearing up . What I find unique in the direction they are taking is moving west takes you away from the lake. The front of my house faces directly in the middle between south and west, with each corner pointing in a compass direction. This is the second time my home has been in the direct flight path.
