A small group of monarch butterflies were seen flying south over the water of Lake Huron about 25 miles east of the Mackinac Bridge.
The butterflies could have been traveling to Bois Blanc Island to rest or possibly trying to cross all the way to the Lower Penninsula of Michigan in one flight.
