My class is raising 26 Monarchs from my backyard garden. The eggs 40+ were found on the plants about Aug.15-18th here in PA. We shared the extra with our other second grade classes. I want each child to be able to share in the journed, and Journey North is the only way I can guarentee the full experience. We will be having a grand flight day and will be making our butterflies on that special day. I am hoping to encourage parents to purchase milkweed to grow in their own gardens for the Monarchs. Another second grade class did this last year and they loved it.
