I love flower gardening and began to notice butterflies and larvae and which flowers and plants they feed on. I always try to save any milkweed I find and have watched the larvae feed. Four days ago, for the first time ever, I have had a small group of monarchs settle on lower branches of a Silver Maple in my yard. I wonder if they grew up here, or are a migrant group; how long they might stay; and, where they are going. It is so fascinating. Three of my grandchildren were here to see them, too. We are all quite interested in the life cycles of small, crawly, and flying creatures.
