Our 850 kdg. students have seen monarch butterlies during every visit to our Children's Garden this week. We have many milkweed plants and butterfly bushes. Painted Ladies, Tiger Swallowtails, Spicebush Swallowtails, and Cabbage Whites join the Monarchs nectaring. We saw 4 monarchs at one time. The children have pointed out many "caterpillar bites" on the leaves. We are also observing monarch caterpillars in the classroom as part of the Monarch Teacher Network.
