Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/14/2003

Number: 1

Sunday 7:00am I noticed monarch activity among the trees that canopied the auto tour road. It was overcast but not raining.
I scanned the trees with binoculars and found clumps of monarchs roosting in the trees. Suddenly it began to sprinkle and the sky became filled with monarchs. It was fantastic. I estimate 200 monarchs in total. The next morning they were gone.
