We had more Monarch caterpillars in our field this year than in the last five years. We have been observing fourteen chrysalis in our classroom and ten have hatched and been released to date. An interesting note, I found most caterpillars in milkweed that was near my son's orange netted lobster traps. In fact he had to leave five traps in the field until some chrysallis had hatched.
