Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/14/2003

Number: 1

The monarchs arrived at our place just north of Enid Oklahoma on Sunday evening, September 14, 2003.

They arrived with a cool front that quickly changed to strong winds out of the South. They are still here but we are expecting a couple of fronts to come through from the North this week and so they may leave.

It's very hard to judge the number, but some observers have said there may be a thousand.

Thursday, Sept. 18

We had a cool front come in from the north Thursday morning about 9 A.M. Very cloudy and windy. The monarchs are gone!

Today would be a great day for their migration. Cool, sunny and a mild north breeze. If any more straggle in, I'll let you know.
