I am most impressed by the movement of monarchs in
east Toronto this morning, as well outside of the city
along the Hwy. 401 expressway. Across one small
portion of one major north-south street (Kennedy Road)
from Eglinton to 401, I counted 7 monarchs crossing
the highway, some flapping, many soaring. This pattern
continued as I drove along the expressway to Ajax.
Migration weather has been amazing since well before
Labour Day. Today, little wind. Nights cool - down
into the 50's. Right now it is 68 F and sunny at 10:45
am.. We really could use some rain and hurricane
Isabel is heading directly towards Toronto.
Looks like a bumper crop of monarchs.
