Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/16/2003

Number: 1

On Tuesday, standing in my small yard, I saw at least 65 monarchs during
an hour time span passing through my yard (so I estimated 500 in a day).
Some stopped to nector, but most had no interest. They were flying
southwest. I also noticed that most of the monarchs I have released in
September have been females. Was it just coincidence, or are there more
females late in the season?? Does anyone know?
