On 9/17/03 and 9/18/03, Kindergarten students from Belmont Hills released Monarch butterflies. We have been watching them develop through the life cycle stages since they arrived at our school on 9/3/03 as caterpillars. We were sad to see them leave our classroom, but we understand how important it is for them to be in their natural habitat.
We released 8 butterflies on these two days and we anticipate releasing more as they hatch.
