We have 2 Monarch chrysalises; one formed on the 16th and one formed on the 18th of this month. The one formed on the 16th is only just beginning to have a small area of the wing become visible. In past years, it semed to have taken only 10 days for our butterfly to emerge. This year, the mornings have been cooler than average, already getting down into the upper 40's overnight. Maybe this has something to do with the slower development. Hannah V. was the student who noticed the change in our chrysalis this morning.
