Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/25/2003

Number: 1

Around 5:00p.m. I noticed monarchs gathering in two elm trees in my back yard. They continued to gather until dark. There are 1000's roosting in the two elm trees as well as an oak tree in the front yard. They are mostly on the limbs facing west. They remained there overnight and were still there this morning after a nighttime shower. The weather is cool and damp today.
