I have planted butterfly weed in 2 of my flower beds,and at the end of August I noticed eggs on 3 different plants. Within a week I had 3 Monarch caterpillars, and still had several eggs. I have had a total of 9 Monarch caterpillars to hatch. The first 3 have had to already go into chrysalis, but I haven't yet found where. The other caterpillars are huge and should be going into chrysalis any day, but the weather has changed and is very cool during the day, in the low 60's, and in the mid 30's at night.
