My family has been working on planting low water use, drought-tolerant plants to attract wildlife to our suburban backyard in the west side of Albuquerque. The yard has been visited by over 60 species of birds including hummingbirds, orioles and warblers. We have seen swallowtail, skipper, and hairstreak butterflies and sphinx moths feeding on the flowers. Whiptail lizards have also moved in and they scurry around looking for insects to eat under all the brushy plants!
