Mrs. Swentzel's third grade class in Stanhope, (Byram) NJ has been raising 3 monarch catipillars. Today we released 3 beautiful fully grown monarch butterflies. We had two males and one female that we released. We placed them on a goldenrod bush just outside our school. They started feeding on the flowers.
We think they needed to gain more strength before taking off. We wish them well on their journey.
