Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/05/2003

Number: 1

Well, I thought last week represented the peak migration of the monarchs through North Texas, however yesterday (10/5) from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm I observed non stop monarch movement through the North TX (Mc Kinney) area-- literally hundreds of monarchs (in good condition) were passing through; the sky was overcast, and there was not much of a breeze and weather was warm/humid following am rains. In evening a woodland roost site looked orange from a distance it was covered with so many roosting monarchs!
