Well, I thought last week might be the peak monarch migration through North Texas, but since we've been having such interesting weather, I decided to wait and keep watching, and sure enough on Sunday (10/5) the monarchs filled the skies floating through on a cloudy and warm/humid afternoon following am rains. There were literally hundreds in the air all afternoon, and dozens descended upon my butterfly bushes (Buddleia sp.) to nectar. Later in the evening, a woodland roosting area appeared orange from a distance due to the immense numbers of roosting monarchs! J
