Twenty Six days ago the two monarch catterpillars I was raising went into their cryslis. About ten days ago I had given up hope they would make it out - their cryslis's had both fallen from the spot they spun their button - this was because they were accidentally left out in a couple rains and the weather had been no warmer than the mid 60's. I had been keeping them inside so that they would stay warm and taking them outside when the sun was shining and it was "warm" out. so any way I had given up hope that they would emerge and left the two cryslis's in an open container on a moist paper towel jut in case they would still emerge. that was over ten days ago and today in 70+ temps
after completally forgetting about them I was outside and tending to my Giant sequoia bonsi when I had walked past the container 3 times already and just by chance this bright orange caught my eye!!!!! the two monarchs had emerged!! Two females
