This afternoon was cool with puffy clouds and light westerly wind. It was a Cooper's Hawk day, with 14 soaring over my house in Broken Bow in about an hour.
But more amazing and interesting (to me) were the hundreds, maybe thousands of Monarch Butterflies soaring over at all altitudes. Some were just specks in my 8.5 power binocs, all heading southwest. The last two days have been similar, but not so many passing by. A busy time in this area.
