Two female and two male monarchs were seen nectaring on butterfly bushes and zinnias in our school garden throughout the day. We also saw several painted ladies and many cabbage whites. One child remarked that the girl butterflies flew like eagles with big flaps of their wings, but the boys were zipping very fast.
