Irwin's second graders planted their tulip bulbs on this sunny afternoon. The temperature was 59 degrees F. We planted the bulbs around the perimeter of a large circle so each student would be able to get close to his or her plant in the spring. I planted some "surprise bulbs" in the center of the circle. We planted about two weeks later than last year.
