Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/17/2003

Number: 1

Students in our class have seen an estimated total of about 65 monarchs over a period of the last two weeks. Some were seen on our school grounds; or while students were coming to school or going home. Three students were fishing Sunday and saw monarchs near Lake Houston. Most of them were eating nectar or on plants. Several have been seen flying southwest without stopping. Two of these sightings happened in Clear Lake and near Arlington, TX.
