Signs of Fall

Date: 10/21/2003

Number: 1

Today we are having our first snow of the season. (School actually had to be canceled! ...Only the start to a long winter up here in western Maine). Lots of "Leaf Peepers" were in town last week to see the beautiful colors. The peak foliage viewing is past, now. Outside our classroom we have been watching the leaves of several oak trees change from green to brown and fall to the ground. We notice the squirrels gathering the acorns. (We are studying about chlorophyll and its role in the photosynthesis process.)
