Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/20/2003

Number: 1

It was a sunny, warm day with temperatures in the 70's. That is warmer than usual for the season. We went outside to the flower bed in front of our school and we had a great deal of difficulty digging because the ground was clay. In the afternoon we went to the back flower beds at our school and found it was easier. When we dug we found insects, rocks, clay, roots from other plants and lots of mulch. After we planted our tulips we put in sticks with our names so we could watch our individual tulip. We planted yellow tulips to dig up during the year so we could watch the underground growth. We think that our tulips will bloom in the end of March.
