i live in the dallas area of north tx. and was traveling northward from 125 mi. south of dallas last sun. oct. 12, 2003. the time of day was between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm.

it was in the area of ennis, tx. that i began to notice the monarchs fluttering above interstate 45 in a westerly direction. for the remainder of my trip northerly into the dallas area i continued to see scattered monarchs fluttering approx. twenty feet above the ground, crossing my path from east to west.. ( my right to my left). i would estimate the numbers i spotted were in the hundreds.
