I teach second grade and the study of insect life cycles is a big part of our curriculum. I would like to teach the children to be caretakers of earth's wonderful creatures. We have a large butterfly garden in our courtyard that I started three years ago with some volunteer parents. We grow milkweed and raise monarch caterpillars. The children would like to help the monarchs by creating new habitat areas for them in the north. They also want to learn about the Mexican children and hope that they will take care of them as well.
